HyperDrop for Android
The Android app shares from any app's Share menu and shows your Receive Inboxes in Files. It installs from an APK on this site; Google Play comes later.

Install
HyperDrop for Android needs Android 13 or later on a 64-bit ARM phone or tablet.
- On the phone, open the Android download page and download the APK.
- Open it from the browser's downloads. The first time, Android asks whether this browser may install apps: choose Settings, turn on Allow from this source, and go back.
- Choose Install, then open HyperDrop.
- You can turn Allow from this source off again afterwards. Android asks once more when you install an update.
Check the signature
Every HyperDrop APK is signed with one certificate, and Android installs an update only when it is signed by the same certificate as the installed app. Before the first install, compare the certificate's SHA-256 with this one:
5D:52:ED:33:33:73:13:67:09:37:AE:47:20:F7:EB:DD:17:B5:F8:BB:EC:44:2B:98:6B:E7:BE:BF:FA:B4:9C:C7
With the Android SDK build tools on a computer:
apksigner verify --print-certs HyperDrop-<version>-<build>.apk
Its line Signer #1 certificate SHA-256 digest: shows the same digits in lowercase without colons. The download page also lists each APK's own SHA-256, which tells you the file arrived whole.
First run
HyperDrop opens on Join a Server. Choose Scan a QR Code and point the camera at the code a HyperDrop server or computer shows, or paste the join code from your invite. With a login instead, type the server's address, then your login and password.
No server yet? Server Management sets one up on a VPS or a Synology NAS from a computer, and the one-line installer sets up a Linux box from its own terminal.
To share, choose HyperDrop in any app's Share menu. Files people send to your Receive Inboxes appear under HyperDrop in Android's Files app and file picker.
Updates
HyperDrop checks the download page's release list once a day. When a newer version is out, Settings shows HyperDrop <version> is available with Open Download Page. Download the new APK and install it over the old one; your accounts and settings stay. When a version works with only some of your servers, Settings says why instead (Version mismatch).
Troubleshooting
"App not installed"
The HyperDrop on the phone was signed by someone else, such as a test build. Android will not replace it with this one. Uninstall it first (below), then install the APK again. Uninstalling removes that copy's accounts from the phone, so join your servers again afterwards.
"There was a problem parsing the package"
The download is incomplete. Delete it, download it again, and compare its SHA-256 with the one on the download page if it fails twice.
"App not compatible with your phone"
The device runs a version of Android older than 13, or has a 32-bit or x86 processor. The APK carries the app for 64-bit ARM only.
Uninstall
Open Android's Settings, then Apps, HyperDrop, and choose Uninstall. This removes HyperDrop's accounts from the phone. Your shares stay on the server, and joining again lists them.
