Install on Windows
- Run the downloaded installer. It installs HyperDrop for your account only, into your own user folder, and never asks for an administrator's permission.
- Open HyperDrop from the Start menu; it lives in the notification area of the taskbar. Choose Join a HyperDrop server and paste your join code, or Set up a server to create one.
- To share, right-click files or a folder in File Explorer and choose HyperDrop, then Share via HyperDrop.
“Windows protected your PC”? HyperDrop's installer is not signed with a code-signing certificate, so SmartScreen shows this when you open it. Choose More info, check that the file is the HyperDrop installer you downloaded, then Run anyway. Smart App Control, when it is on, blocks HyperDrop with no way past, and has to be off. The steps, and what HyperDrop checks itself.
HyperDrop checks for updates when it starts and once a day, and installs one when you choose Install and Relaunch; see updates on Windows.
To uninstall, open Settings, Apps, Installed apps and choose Uninstall beside HyperDrop. Your servers, settings and extensions are kept for a reinstall; see what stays and how to remove it.
Extensions add capture tools and support for more media formats; each one's page says which systems it is available on.
