Ubuntu 24.04 and newer, Debian 13, Fedora 41 and newer, on x86_64 and ARM64. Installs from the HyperDrop package repository, which keeps it current.
Install from the repository
The HyperDrop package repository installs the app and updates it with the rest of your system (apt upgrade, dnf upgrade). It is signed with the key 9D09 3499 BE6A DB30 C38F 3DAE 80AC 6826 B880 0F72. Add the menu for your file manager: hyperdrop-nautilus for GNOME Files, hyperdrop-dolphin for Dolphin, hyperdrop-thunar for Thunar.
Debian and Ubuntu
sudo curl -fsSL -o /usr/share/keyrings/hyperdrop-packages.asc https://gethyperdrop.com/keys/hyperdrop-packages.asc
sudo curl -fsSL -o /etc/apt/sources.list.d/hyperdrop.sources https://gethyperdrop.com/downloads/hyperdrop.sources
sudo apt update && sudo apt install hyperdrop-desktop hyperdrop-nautilus
Fedora
sudo curl -fsSL -o /etc/yum.repos.d/hyperdrop.repo https://gethyperdrop.com/downloads/hyperdrop.repo
sudo dnf install hyperdrop-desktop hyperdrop-nautilus
dnf shows the key’s fingerprint and asks before trusting it, once for the repository and once for its packages.
- Open HyperDrop from your applications. Choose Join a HyperDrop server and paste your join code, or Set up a server to create one.
- To share, right-click files or a folder in your file manager and choose Share via HyperDrop, or use the tray icon.

HyperDrop for Windows has its own page.
A package downloaded here installs the same app without the repository, and without its updates. Install the file-manager menu matching the app's version.
apt and dnf update HyperDrop with the rest of your system; see updates on Linux.
To uninstall, run sudo apt remove hyperdrop-desktop or sudo dnf remove hyperdrop-desktop. Your servers, settings and extensions are kept for a reinstall; see what stays and how to remove it.
Extensions add capture tools and support for more media formats; each one's page says which systems it is available on.
