What it does
- Set up a server on a VPSInstalls over SSH and sets up your address and administrator account. Use a password, key file or SSH agent.
- Set up a server on a Synology NASGuides you through Package Center, your server address and router forwarding.
- Keep a list of your serversSee each server’s status and version. Add existing servers, check them or manage them from one list.
- Reset an account's second factorOver SSH on a Linux server, for an account whose authenticator is lost. On a Synology NAS, see Troubleshooting.
- Remove HyperDrop from a serverUninstall over SSH, keeping shares unless you choose to delete them. On a NAS, use Package Center.
After installation, choose Open in HyperDrop on your Mac or paste the join code into HyperDrop Desktop. Administrators enable two-factor authentication at first sign-in. Server Management does not save passwords.
For terminal use, run hyperdrop-server-management --help to see the available commands.
Ask your AI agent
Choose Connect my agent in Server Management. Supports Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, Codex, Gemini CLI and Pi.
Passwords and join codes stay in Server Management’s window. Your agent sees progress and results; removing a server requires your confirmation in the app.
Try asking: “Set up a HyperDrop server on my VPS at 203.0.113.10.”
Connecting by hand, and what each MCP server can do: AI agents.
Downloads
macOS: notarized, drag it into Applications. Windows and Linux: not code-signed, and the wizard opens in its own window. Windows SmartScreen may warn that the publisher is unknown: choose More info, then Run anyway. The Windows build is x86_64 and also runs on Windows 11 on ARM through its built-in x64 emulation.
Linux: on Debian or Ubuntu, install the .deb with sudo apt install ./<file>.deb; on Fedora or RHEL, the .rpm with sudo dnf install ./<file>.rpm; on openSUSE, sudo rpm --import https://gethyperdrop.com/keys/hyperdrop-packages.asc and then sudo zypper install ./<file>.rpm. Either one adds Server Management to your applications menu. A downloaded package updates by installing the next one; installed from the repository, it updates with your system. The .zip runs anywhere else; without WebKitGTK the wizard opens in your browser.
Install from the repository
On Linux, the HyperDrop package repository installs Server Management and keeps it current: updates then arrive with your system’s own (apt upgrade, dnf upgrade, zypper update). It carries the newest release only, for x86_64 and ARM64; an older one is a download from the releases below. It is the same repository as the command line’s, signed with the key 9D09 3499 BE6A DB30 C38F 3DAE 80AC 6826 B880 0F72. GNOME Software and KDE Discover show Server Management from it, with its description and its release notes, before it is installed.
Debian and Ubuntu
sudo curl -fsSL -o /usr/share/keyrings/hyperdrop-packages.asc https://gethyperdrop.com/keys/hyperdrop-packages.asc
sudo curl -fsSL -o /etc/apt/sources.list.d/hyperdrop.sources https://gethyperdrop.com/downloads/hyperdrop.sources
sudo apt update && sudo apt install hyperdrop-server-management
Fedora and RHEL
sudo curl -fsSL -o /etc/yum.repos.d/hyperdrop.repo https://gethyperdrop.com/downloads/hyperdrop.repo
sudo dnf install hyperdrop-server-management
dnf shows the key’s fingerprint and asks before trusting it, once for the repository and once for its packages.
openSUSE
sudo zypper addrepo https://gethyperdrop.com/downloads/hyperdrop.repo
sudo zypper install hyperdrop-server-management
zypper shows the key’s fingerprint and asks before trusting it.
Releases
When a new version is available, choose Update now in Server Management on macOS, Windows or the Linux .zip; a .deb or .rpm shows the apt or dnf command that installs it instead.
